二星半。与鲨岛逃生几乎一样的内核。imdb：约翰・福特坚持认为，没有演员能真正重现真实鞭刑带来的痛苦。乔恩・霍尔同意亲身尝试，他甘愿被马鞭抽打至后背流血。遗憾的是，他对真实感的追求并未被观众看到 —— 审查员认为这段镜头过于逼真，坚持要求将其剪掉。
